Crohn's Disease

Crohn's Disease is a chronic, recurrent inflammatory disease of the intestinal tract. The disease begins as small, microscopic nests of inflammation which persist and smolder. The lining of the intestines can then become ulcerated and the bowel wall thickened. Symptoms can include acute abdominal pain (which can mimic appendicitis), diarrhea (sometimes bloody), fever, weight loss, fatigue, and lethargy.1
